The Society operates a 30-unit Assisted Living residence adjacent to the complex care residence.
The Assisted Living residence apartments are 540-square-foot one-bedroom units designed to be fully self-contained and accessible to most elders able to direct their own care. The residence includes welcoming communal spaces such as lounges, craft areas, and extensive gardens and walking pathways. Two meals are provided each day, along with activities programming and light housekeeping services. While personal care services are currently provided to residents by Island Health Community Health Workers, GES is working with Island Health to implement Optimized Assisted Living, under which care services will be provided by GES care staff.
Access to the Assisted Living residence is achieved through assessment and referral by Island Health. Residents pay a monthly fee determined by Island Health.
