Paid Training. Meaningful Work. A Career in Care.

Greenwoods Eldercare Society is proud to participate in the Health Career Access Program (HCAP) – a fully funded, paid pathway into a rewarding career in health care.
HCAP is designed for people with little or no previous health care experience who are passionate about supporting seniors and making a difference in their community. Through this program, you can earn while you learn and build a long-term career in care.
What is HCAP?
HCAP provides paid employment and paid education, removing financial barriers to entering the health-care field.
As an HCAP participant at Greenwoods, you will:
- Be hired as an employee and paid from day one
- Receive fully funded post-secondary education
- Earn a weekly living allowance during the education phase
- Graduate with the qualifications to work as a Health Care Aide (HCA) or Community/Home Support Worker (CHW)
How the Program Works
- Start Working
You begin your journey as a Health Care Support Worker (a non-clinical role) at Greenwoods, earning wages on site for up to three months. - Paid Education
You then move into the education component, attending a designated post-secondary institution for approximately 6–8 months. Tuition is covered, and you continue to receive a weekly living allowance. - Graduate & Return to Work
After graduating, you commit to returning to work for 12 months as a qualified Health Care Aide or Community/Home Support Worker.- You’ll apply for regular positions at your primary Greenwoods site
- If a regular position isn’t immediately available, you may work casual shifts or explore opportunities at other partner facilities
Additional Support
- All HCAP participants receive a one-time $342 stipend to help cover pre-requisites such as TB testing, English language testing, and other requirements.
Why Choose Greenwoods?
At Greenwoods Eldercare Society, you’ll join a supportive, mission-driven team that values compassion, learning, and community connection. HCAP is more than training – it’s a pathway to a stable career where your work truly matters.
