Leadership Update
Effective February 19, 2026, Aletha Humphreys is no longer serving as Executive Director of Greenwoods Eldercare Society.
The Board of Directors sincerely thanks Aletha for her dedication and leadership, and for the many meaningful contributions she has made to Greenwoods. Throughout her time as the Executive Director, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to our residents, families, staff, and the broader community. We thank her for her service and wish her well in her future endeavours.
Interim Leadership
David Thompson has been appointed Interim Executive Director and will assume leadership responsibilities on Monday, February 23, 2026. He brings extensive experience in the long-term care sector and will work closely with the leadership team and staff to ensure stability and continuity during this transition. Until February 23rd, our Director of Care, Janice Bensen will provide interim executive leadership support.
Continuity of Care and Services
There will be no change to day-to-day operations, service quality, or our commitment to residents and families. All programs and services will continue as scheduled. We remain focused on delivering high-quality, person-centred care while meeting all required standards.
Next Steps
The Board of Directors will conduct a thorough search for permanent leadership. Governance and operational oversight remain strong, and our mission-driven work continues without interruption. We appreciate the ongoing support of residents, families, staff and community during this transition.
